Student welcome back parties

by Lily Winborn

Calhoun is hosting welcome back events for students at both Calhoun campuses this week.

On Wednesday, August 31st, from 11-1 pm on the Decatur campus, students can join the event held at the west side of the Kelley Gymnasium. There will be free food, games, and an opportunity to check out the Calhoun clubs.

The fun moves to the Huntsville campus the next day, on Thursday, September 1st, from 11-1 pm. The event will held between the two buildings on campus.

The biggest draw will be the free food and a chance to meet other students, when many students are still doing their classes online.

There are many clubs to choose from for students. There are intermural sports groups, Bible study groups, a gaming club, a book club, the Student Government Association (SGA), and honor societies like Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). Since students and society are still in the Covid pandemic, social interactions have become more limited, so it is important to meet with people to make friends.
