Calhoun Community College is the largest two-year college in the state of Alabama. With holding this title comes great standards. There are many things that have to be considered when developing and building the culture of a diverse campus. Among those things is the comfort of students. When referring to comfort I am alluding to being secure, involved, included, and easily accustomed to the culture of the school.

While many colleges focus on academic progress and maintaining student retention, we should not minimize the importance of this. Comfort plays a big role in the life of a college student. However, a lack of comfortability could cause a number of problems for a student, such as a decline in their mental health, academic performance, and social life.
If you are looking for a place to “fit” in, we have numerous clubs and organizations on both campuses that may help you find your home here at Calhoun. Black Students’ Alliance (BSA), SPECTRUM, and the International Club (HSV Campus) are a few organizations we have.
