Attention, Spring Breakers

So many of us are looking forward to Spring Break. Some have plans to go to the beach or to take a cruise. Others, however, will be staying close to home. For those who will be staying in and around Huntsville, rest assured, there are many things going on during the week to enjoy.

Huntsville’s hockey team, the Havoc, will be having their Military Appreciation Night on March 25, with doors opening at 7 PM. Come on out and enjoy time with their mascots, Chaos and Rukus, in saluting and appreciating our military.

If hockey isn’t your thing, that’s okay. Maybe music is. Consider visiting Lowe Mill for free cigar box guitar lessons. No experience is necessary, and loaner guitars are available. For any questions, call (256) 886-8554.

For the foodies, the Taste of Soul Family Festival will be at the Orion Amphitheatre. Doors open at 12 PM on March 25. This event will feature food vendors from all over Huntsville, live music, and DJ entertainment. Tickets to this event are $25. Come on out and tickle those taste buds.

Why not get into the SWING of things with free swing dancing lessons at Stovehouse (in the Electric Belle)? Classes are from 6:30-7 PM every Tuesday. If you don’t need lessons, show up at 7 PM and enjoy open dance until 10 PM.

If community service is your thing, the mayor’s spring tree planting is March 25 at John Hunt Park from 9-11AM. Please park at 2305 Airport Road.

Whatever you do or wherever you go, enjoy your week off!
