Calhoun Community College teamed up with the Alabama Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (ALACRAO) to host its Annual Spring College Fair on Tuesday, April 6, 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm, in the parking lot of Calhoun’s Math, Science and CIS building, 102 Wynn Dr. NW Huntsville, AL.

According to Doug Brazier, Calhoun Workforce Solutions Business Developer, and ALACRAO District 9 Coordinator, more than 50 colleges from across the region were present at this year’s college fair. The drive-thru style featured a way to allow participants to scan a QR code, enter their contact information, and select schools to receive more information. Once those selections were made, participants got to drive-thru and collect the requested information without having to leave their vehicles. Students were able to send their information to any of the registered schools participating in the fair as well.

Along with Calhoun, colleges such as The University of Alabama, Alabama A & M University, Auburn University, Mississippi State University, University of West Georgia, Virginia Military Institute, Jacksonville State University, Eastern Kentucky University were in attendance.

“ALACRAO is sponsoring 10 drive-thru college fairs throughout its member districts,” commented Jade Chappell, Calhoun Advisor and ALACRAO Vice President of Communications. “The organization’s main goal is to offer a safe alternative to its traditional college fairs, while providing students with the information necessary to get started on their collegiate journey,” added Chappell.
