Calhoun Community College is hosting a Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, November 10th to honor America’s veterans.
Verterans Day is observered each year on November 11th, no matter what day of the week that falls. It marks the end of World War I, the first major world war.
The guests speaker will be MAJ. RANDAL C. (CASEY) KNIGHT, Fire Support Officer of the
20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) of the Alabama National Guard.
The Veterans Day program will be in the Sparkman Building on the Huntsville campus Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.

Huntsville has a sizable veterans community, and many Calhoun students are veterans.
“In Huntsville, 11.3% of the 18 and older civilian population are veterans — compared to 7.5% of adult civilians nationwide and 8.9% of the civilian population in all of Alabama,” according to the national website 24/7 Wall Street.
Calhoun classes will not meet on Thursday, November 11th for Veteran’s Day.
Students and staff can attend the annual Huntsville Veterans Day parade in downtown Huntsville at 11:00 a.m.
