Vaccinations are still available, and now a second booster shot is open for people age 50 and older, or people who have pre-existing illnesses.

According to Huntsville Hospital, “Huntsville Hospital’s Fever & Flu Clinic has joined a new network of federally-qualified sites that offer COVID-19 testing, medical evaluation and prescription treatment under one roof. High-risk patients who come to the Fever & Flu Clinic with COVID symptoms are given a rapid test and evaluated by the nurse practitioner on site to see if they are a candidate for any of these potentially lifesaving therapies. IV treatments can be started right away at the clinic; oral antivirals are available through the Huntsville Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy with curbside pick-up so patients don’t have to enter the building,”.

Huntsville Hospital and Fox Army Health Clinic on the arsenal are two Test to Treat sites in Madison County, but area pharmacies are also participating.

The Huntsville Hospital Fever & Flu Clinic is located at 120 Governors Drive, across from Huntsville Hospital Heart Center. Hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and walk-ins are welcome.

Most people have abandoned mask wearing, and the warmer weather makes it easier to be outside without being close to people.

Without official updates from the federal government or state government, it is hard for students to know what they should be doing to protect themselves and their families against the virus.

Graduations are around the corner for high schools and colleges, and some of these ceremonies are inside. Family members should still use caution by using masks and hand sanitizers.

Don’t throw you masks away just yet. Whether you’ve had the virus or not, students should still practice hand washing hygiene, get vaccinated, and try to keep a safe distance. The world has to go on, but we can all “go on” safely.
